Here are five events in Lake Travis-Westlake to celebrate the holiday season.

Through 16 Write a letter to Santa


Hosted by the Steiner Ranch Homeowners Association, parents can help their child write a letter to Santa and have Santa’s elves write them back. Return addresses are encouraged. After making their Christmas wishlist, children can drop off their letters at the Red Santa Mailbox by the HOA office front door at Towne Square on weekdays through Dec. 16 between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Steiner Ranch HOA office, 12550 Country Trails Lane, Austin. www.steinerranchhoa.org

08 through 23 Explore a light trail

The Austin Trail of Lights is returning to its traditional in-person format this year in Zilker Park. The trail now features more than 2 million lights illuminating the park, 90 lighted holiday trees, and more than 70 other holiday displays and lighted tunnels. 09 Enjoy a holiday film


The Lakeway Parks & Recreation Department will host a screening of “The Polar Express” along with trackless train rides in the Lakeway City Hall parking lot. The movie will begin around 6:15 p.m., and guests are encouraged to wear holiday pajamas and bring lawn chairs, snacks and blankets for the viewing. 10 Wear your PJs

This holiday-themed family event hosted by the Highland Village Welcome Center invites guests to put on their pajamas and enjoy pizza with Santa. The admission price includes activities, food and a picture with Santa. There will also be cupcakes, Christmas music and an ornament making station. 2-5 p.m. $15 (per child). 02 through Jan. 2 Light it up
