Williamson County has issued a call for community block grant applicants, according to a March 2 news release.

Nearly $1.6 million will be allocated through the Williamson County’s Community Development Block Grant program during fiscal year 2020-21. Cities, nonprofits and other entities can apply for that funding from now through April 16, the release said. Funds will be made available to approved projects on or around October 1, 2020, it said.

Projects will be selected using the following 2019-2023 priorities.

  • Public facility and infrastructure improvements

    • Increase access to affordable housing

    • Decrease homelessness

    • Public services

    • Affirmatively further fair housing

Projects should be located in participating cities or in the unincorporated areas of Williamson County. Online applications can be found at www.wilco.org/cdbg and should be submitted electronically, the release said.
