TOP PRIORITIES 1. We should elect members from single-member districts like our City Council moved to several years ago so that all of Georgetown’s families are represented.

2. GISD has hired personnel at the administration level that is almost double the average [number of positions], both in Region 13 and statewide. This [is happening] when our teachers are not getting raises sufficient to pay for the increases in their health insurance coverage.

3. The STAAR test takes too much of our classroom time and treasure for an assessment that is deeply flawed. GISD should join with other school districts across Texas to fight against this test.

Correction: Paula Trietsch Chaney's list of priorities incorrectly said GISD has hired personnel at the administration level that is almost double the average salary. Chaney said the district has hired personnel at the administration level that is almost double the average [number of positions] in Region 13 and statewide.
