Election day for the Democratic and Republican primaries is March 3. Williamson County voters will use precinct-specific polling locations on election day, with election results expected to be delayed due to other countywide changes, County Elections Administrator Bridgette Escobedo said.

The local Republican and Democratic parties determine election day procedures for primaries. This year, the Williamson County Republican Party opted for precinct-specific polling locations, which in turn requires the local Democratic Party to follow suit.
There are 177 voting precincts in Williamson County. The two local parties decided not to operate a joint election, meaning there are party-specific polling locations.
Both parties will combine some precincts, resulting in 55 Republican polling locations and 42 Democratic polling locations.
Residents can check the county voter precinct map to identify which precinct they are in. Updated precincts went into effect Jan. 1. The county election page has links to specific polling locations for each election by precinct and party.
Something to note
Election results may not be available on the night of the election, due to procedural changes in how the county will collect and count ballots, Escobedo said at a Jan. 27 Commissioners Court meeting.
County commissioners approved switching to a ballot-on-demand system for hand-marking paper ballots in June 2025.
Democratic voters will use the same ballot-on-demand system used during early voting on election day, but Republican voters will use preprinted, sequentially numbered paper ballots. Voters will mark their ballots by hand, then place the ballot into a box.
For accessibility, Republican voters can also opt to use an electronic ballot marking device.
“When a process for marking a ballot is offered that is not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, such as hand marked paper ballots, a process that is compliant with the ADA must be made available to voters,” Communications Director Connie Odom told Community Impact in an email.
All ballots collected in boxes are then transported to the elections office for scanning and tabulation.
