As Georgetown ISD prepares for students to return to campus for optional in-person learning Sept. 10, here is what to expect with meal services.

On-campus learners

Parents, students and staff will have the option of going through the cafeteria line or ordering ahead through the Nutrislice app, according to a district news release.

The Nutrislice platform is available via browser at georgetownisd.nutrislice.com and can be downloaded to iPhone or Android devices. There, one can view full menus and nutrition information and order ahead. Orders will be charged to Skyward accounts, the release said.

Parents of elementary-age students can order student meals through the app, as can students in middle school and above. Secondary students will be able to pick up their meals at a designated location in their cafeterias, it said.

Staff meals will not be available to pick up from GISD administrative buildings, but Hammerlun and Lakeway staff may pick up meals from any GISD campus, according to the district.

Remote learners

Curbside pickup will still be available for remote learners from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at all campuses. Ordering ahead through the Nutrislice app is not available for remote learners.

It is preferred that meals are picked up from home campuses; however, parents picking up meals for multiple students in their own household may choose the location that is most convenient, the release said.
For example, if a single household includes first-, sixth- and 10th-grade students in your household, all meals may be picked up one campus, it said.

Payment may be made at the time of pickup using a student ID. The ID will be scanned, and the funds will be charged to the student's Skyward account, the release said.

Parents or legal guardians picking up meals without students present in the vehicle will need to present one of the following items in order to pick up meals:

  • Student ID number;

  • Student ID card;

  • Grade level and home campus;

  • Parent/legal guardian ID; or

  • Official letter/email from the school listing children enrolled at the campus.

Meals cannot be picked up for students not in the household.
