The Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department closed amenities and playgrounds that do not allow for physical distancing in response to the Williamson County stay-at-home order. This includes the gatehouse and play ranch at Garey Park.

Because the gatehouse is closed, entrance to the park is now free. All other open spaces, trails, the dog parks and equine amenities are still open. Garey Park's hours will remain 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to the city's website, which urges park and trail users to follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and practice physical distancing by remaining a minimum of 6 feet from anyone on the trails.
