Georgetown City Council will consider a special-use permit regarding age-restricted housing at a meeting Oct. 25.

The property totaling 9.29 acres is located at 4775 Williams Drive and would be developed by Novak Commercial Development, the local Georgetown developer of the Summit at Rivery Park, Summit Lofts and Westinghouse Rise 120.

Site plans show a total of 216 units and 240 parking spaces.

According to the letter of intent, developers believe with close proximity to Sun City and other senior housing communities, the project will fit right in.

The letter also reads, "Georgetown’s ability to offer seniors terrific health care with the existing St. David’s Hospital and the new hospital being built at Wolf lakes is a plus for the residents. Utilities in place are adequate to serve the upscale apartment homes."

If initial approval is received, the special-use permit will have to be approved at a second reading at a later date.
