Construction started in early November on a facility for Isaiah 117 House, a foster care organization serving children in Williamson County.

The gist

Officials broke ground on the house in Georgetown on Nov. 10, but construction started the week of Nov. 4, location leader Tara Thornton said. The house is expected to be complete in the spring, and officials plan to open its doors by next summer, Thornton said.

The organization is not sharing the exact address for the facility due to privacy concerns.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the community support, it’s been unbelievable,” she said. “We are so excited to open our doors next year.”

The nonprofit, which is based in Tennessee, provides a temporary home for children awaiting foster care placement. In 2023, the organization welcomed 11 new locations across the country, according to its annual report.
