TSTC open campus

Texas State Technical College in Williamson County will hold its annual open house Friday for prospective students. The event is also open to the parents, families and friends of current and prospective students and alumni.

Information sessions will be held at 10:30, 11 and 11:30 a.m. and will cover admissions, financial aid and basic information about the East Williamson County Higher Education Center. Lunch will also be provided.

Visitors can tour labs and speak with instructors about the classes offered, including cyber security, HVAC, industrial maintenance, and welding. Tours will be offered beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Easter Eggstravaganza

The free event allows children in different age groups to gather candy and toy-filled eggs. A grand prize egg for each age division.

‘An Evening in Paris’

The Georgetown Public Library and Assistance League of the Georgetown Area host the fundraiser, which features live music by jazz quartet Art & Candy as well as raffle items. Hors d’oeuvres, desserts, wine and beer are served.

Choral concert

Collaborating with the Southwestern University Chorale, the San Gabriel Chorale will perform George F. Handel’s oratorio Samson. The three-act musical is based on the biblical story of Samson as told in the Old Testament Book of Judges 13-16.

Hands on History
Saturday, April 8
Learn about the 100th anniversary of the U.S. joining World War I at the Williamson Museum. Activities include enlisting as a soldier, creating a dog tag and making victory buttons. The museum's World War I exhibit, Poppies in Progress will also be open to the public.

“Keeping Kids Safe”
Saturday, April 8
The Williamson County Children’s Advocacy Center is hosting a free public safety day. This event is being offered in honor of National Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness month and the WCCAC’s 20th anniversary of service to children and families of our community.

Several first responder agencies will showcase their public safety equipment and static displays for the community to view. Cedar Park and Round Rock Police,Williamson County Sheriff’s Department, Georgetown Fire, and Williamson County EMS personnel will have attractions such as a SWAT vehicle, BEAR armored vehicle, K9 agility unit, fire truck, ambulance, motorcycle patrol, and police cars for kids to view and experience.

Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) will provide kid fingerprinting and ID services. Games, face painting, Miniwonders horses, and ROCK (Ride On Center for Kids) horse to hand paint.
