What we reported

After renovations, the iconic area eatery reopened Nov. 16 under the ownership of sommelier Chris McFall and chef Bill Caruso.

Hudson’s On The Bend’s building has been remodeled to be more modern and open, and a large outdoor patio was added.

The new menu still features wild game dishes the former establishment was known for, but it also includes lighter fare using local ingredients.

The latest

Since opening, McFall said the dining crowd has gotten bigger with each passing week.

“We’ve seen a high percentage of super happy faces,” he said. “A few do miss the old restaurant, but people have responded to the new atmosphere and menu.”

What’s next

Only two months after reopening, McFall said staffers are trying to get their method down and will continue to improve service.  The restaurant will open its outdoor patio and satellite bar soon.

Hudson’s On The Bend’s new menu is seasonal, meaning new items will be introduced throughout the year. McFall said the eatery will also reintroduce new versions of old favorites as well.
