CoffeeSock hosted an open house Nov. 14 to introduce Austin to its new factory location where it creates reusable coffee filters.
The factory, located at 2228 S. Lamar Blvd., Ste. B, is where owner Corina Guillory and her staff will create the sustainable and reusable filters, which can last up to a year if used for a pot of coffee every day, Guillory said.
The filters use organically grown, untreated cotton for use in systems that require No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 cone filters, basket filters, Hario v60 filters, and Chemex filters. The filters are sold in pairs so one can be used while the other is cleaned by rinsing and air-drying. A pair of fitlers is sold for $12.99 on the company's website.
Consumers can purchase CoffeeSock products at the factory location; however, the location is intended more for production use than as retail space, Guillory said.

COMING SOON—The Peached Tortilla, 5520 Burnet Road, Ste. 100, is wrapping up construction at its first brick-and-mortar location and plans to open the first week of December. RELOCATIONS—Goldis Sausage Company, , has moved again. Community Impact Newspaper reported Oct. 15 the food truck moved to 503 Colorado St. in early October. The truck can now be found in Bouldin Creek Food Park, 1207 S. First St.
RELOCATIONS—Walker Tire, 6208 N. Lamar Blvd., relocated two blocks south of its former location to offer employees and workers a space with modern updates. The former space near Crestview Transit Station will be reconstructed into residential dwellings in the near future. The 80-year-old business offers services to keep cars running properly such as tuneups and new tires. 512-454-8772.
