The 31st annual Austin Pride Festival and Pride will take place in downtown Austin on Aug. 12. The parade is free to the public and will cause road closures, but alternative routes will be available.

The parade starts at 8 p.m. and begins at 11th Street and Congress Avenue and ends at Cesar Chavez Street and Congress Avenue.

Road Closures

All road closures will reopen no later than midnight except for Fourth Street from Lavaca Street to Congress Avenue, which will not reopen until 2 a.m. Aug. 13.
  • 11th Street from Colorado Street to San Jacinto Boulevard will be closed beginning at 5 p.m.
  • San Jacinto Boulevard from 11th Street to 15th Street will be closed beginning at 1 p.m.
  • 14th Street from San Jacinto Boulevard to Trinity Street will be closed beginning at 1 p.m.
  • 13th Street from San Jacinto Boulevard to Trinity Street will be closed beginning at 1 p.m.
  • 12th Street from San Jacinto Boulevard to Trinity Street will be closed beginning at 1 p.m.
  • Fourth Street from Lavaca Street to Congress Avenue will be closed from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Congress Avenue from 11th Street to Barton Springs Road will be closed beginning at 5 p.m.
  • Westbound traffic on East 11th Street from San Jacinto Boulevard to Trinity Street will be closed beginning at 5 p.m.
  • Eastbound/westbound lanes will be closed on Fifth Street, Cesar Chavez Street and Sixth Street beginning at 7 p.m.

Alternate routes


North and south traffic can take Red River Street, I-35, Trinity Street, northbound on Lavaca Street and southbound on Guadalupe Street.

East and west traffic can use 15th Street, Riverside Drive and Barton Springs Road.
