Heading into its 32nd year, the South by Southwest Conference and Festivals, SXSW EDU and SXSW Gaming are seeking volunteers for the 10-day springtime event, which runs March 8-17. Volunteers are required to commit at least 24 hours of their time and will be eligible for different festival access badges, depending on their assignments. Three volunteer calls will be held Jan. 27, Feb. 10 and Feb. 23 from 3-5 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center, which is located at 500 E. Cesar Chavez St., Austin. Attendees can expect to spend about an hour at the call, during which they will select a crew and shifts. SXSW offers two volunteer tracks—all conference and music venue—which offer more than 30 different crews between them, including artist parking operations, event signage, gaming expo, stage crew and registration. All-conference volunteers must be at least 16 years of age; most music venue volunteer positions have an age requirement of at least 21. Those interested in volunteering but unable to attend any of the calls may contact [email protected] or call 512-467-7979 for more information.
