An unveiling event for "Terratories.," designed by the Mark Odom Studio, will be held June 25 from 9-11 a.m. The interactive exhibit was part of the last year's "Fortlandia" installation at the Wildflower Center, featuring a series of imaginative forts made by local artists and architects, and is now located on the east side of the trail at Lakeshore Park. “Terratories.” includes a series of fort-like shelters that encourage visitors "to expose infinite ways to tunnel, crawl, claim and discover space," according to Odom, and is inspired by the game "pickup sticks."
Odom worked with Citadel Development Services, Makehaus Design & Fabrication Studio and Sloke One on this new "Fortlandia" outpost.
"The second life of 'terratories.' allows even more people the chance to engage and perhaps stay a little longer out in nature. Wayfinding and sight lines from different access points were addressed in this new iteration," Odom said.
