Hestia, named for the Greek goddess of the hearth, features food cooked over a live fire and opened Dec. 7. Kalimotxo, a Basque-style tapas bar, opened Nov. 26 next door. 3. The Soup Peddler opened a sixth location Dec. 7 at 205 W. Third St., Austin. David Ansel founded the local business—which offers soups, smoothies and sandwiches—out of his home in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood and would deliver his homemade soups on his bike. 4. Moontower Cider Co. opened a new tasting room Nov. 15 at its brewery location at 1916 Tillery St., Austin. 5. OMG Squee, a gluten-free, small-batch bakery from owner Sarah Lim, opened its brick-and-mortar store Nov. 23 at 4607 Bolm Road, Austin. The local business specializes in “super kawaii,” or cute, baked goods, including macarons and jiggly cheesecake. www.omgsquee.club


6. A new location for El Tacorrido—called El Tacorrido Y Mas-a— opened Nov. 13 at 1411 E. Seventh St., Austin. The new location is in the front of Mexican restaurant Takoba.
