1. District 4's St. John Park is getting a makeover thanks to a $100,000 grant awarded to the St. John Neighborhood Association last month. The inaugural Austin City Limits Music Festival Impact Grant comes from the Austin Parks Foundation, and funding will be combined with the city of Austin Parks and recreation Department.

St. John Park, located on Wilks Avenue, will receive a new gazebo, information kiosk, drinking fountains, sidewalk and picnic tables.

2. Zilker Park celebrates its 100th anniversary Sunday with the debut of an interactive sculpture by Rock Island. Several restaurants on Barton Springs Road will take part in the celebration by donating a percentage of their sales that day to the Zilker 100 campaign, which helps fund future park improvements. Other activities include free entry to Barton Springs Pool, the Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum, Zilker Botanical Garden and the Zilker Zephyr. More information can be found here.

3. Want to curb that bad habit of texting and driving? Allstate might be able to help with that. In honor of April's National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the car insurance company is bringing its Reality Rides simulator to Austin on Tuesday. The simulator is a stationary vehicle with a virtual reality curved LED screen across the windshield that displays animated distracted-driving scenarios. It will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Austin Community College's East Lawn, located at 1212 Rio Grande St.

4. Capital Metro announced Friday that by the end of 2017, 99 percent of its 2,649 bus stops within its 535-square-mile service area will be accessible to people with disabilities. In 2012, the agency identified 996 stops that could be improved to be more accessible. Now, Capital Metro says it has less than 70 stops left to renovate.

5. The Montopolis neighborhood is getting a new mobile farm stand. Located at the Central Health Southeast Health & Wellness Center at 2901 Montopolis Drive, the Farmshare Austin Fresh for Less Mobile Market began selling fresh produce Friday. The farm stand will be there every Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
