The day will kick off at 10:30 a.m. with a pet parade at Lick Honest Ice Creams near Mueller Lake Park and the Thinkery. From there, parade participants will walk around the Aldrich Street Paseo in the Mueller development before ending back at Lick Honest Ice Creams, officials said in a news release Aug. 15.
Those attending are encouraged to dress up with their pets in festive flair and participate in the parade if they wish; officials asked anyone who wishes to participate in the parade to arrive by 10 a.m.
What else?
After the parade, eventgoers are welcome to indulge in sweet treats, including complimentary pup cups for dogs. Officials said a portion of all ice cream sales during the event will be donated to Austin Pets Alive, and additional donations will be collected on-site as well.
Some of the activities planned the day include dog tarot readings from Lucky Dog Tarot, which offers light-hearted readings for both pets and their humans.
Other Mueller businesses, such as Sweetgreen and VIO Med Spa, will also have surprises for pets at the event, officials said.
