After receiving more than 75,000 votes in Congressional District 21 according to the Texas Secretary of State, Wendy Davis will be the Democratic nominee.

The former Democratic gubernatorial candidate and state senator faced off against Jennie Lou Leeder, a former chair of the Llano County Democratic party.

Davis received 86.1% of the vote—75,736 votes total in the district that includes all or part of 10 counties. Leeder finished with 12,182 votes, or 13.9%.

The 21st district stretches from Austin south to San Antonio and west to Johnson City, Fredericksburg and Kerrville.

Davis will advance to face Republican incumbent Chip Roy, who is running uncontested in the primary and has served since winning the seat in 2018.
