LaTisha Anderson has won Austin ISD's District 1 board of trustee seat after earning 61.83 percent of votes over incumbent Ted Gordon.
With all 143 voting locations reporting to Travis County, LaTisha Anderson received 12,569 total votes. Gordon received 7,758 votes.

With 90 of 144 precincts reporting as of 10:26 p.m., LaTisha Anderson is ahead of incumbent Ted Gordon by 4,091 votes and holds a 22.25 percent lead in the race.
Anderson told
Community Impact Newspaper that tonight's results "have been a shocker."
"Campaigning I noticed a lot of people saying they believed you need a degree to be a trustee," she said. "I've been in Austin all my life, and I didn't wake up one day and think I'm going to be a trustee. I prepared. I have a child in the district and am aware of what parents go through."

As of 9:45 p.m. with 48 of 144 precincts reporting, LaTisha Anderson has maintained her lead in Austin ISD District 1 with 10,068 total votes.
Incumbent Ted Gordon has received 6,517 of votes currently counted.

Austin ISD incumbent trustee Ted Gordon trails District 1 challenger LaTisha Anderson by a wide margin, over 20 percent, after early voting results were reported by Travis County. All results are unofficial until canvased.
Anderson received 9,546 early votes compared to Gordon's 6,266 early votes. Election Day results have not yet been reported.
District 1 covers parts of North and Central Austin, primarily east of I-35 and along Hwy. 290.
