A new cocktail bar and restaurant called Holiday is opening at 5020 E. Seventh St., Austin, in early spring.
Holiday is co-owned by John DiCicco—who also co-owns the bar Kinda Tropical—and Erin Ashford. DiCicco will be in charge of administrative operations, and Ashford will serve as bar and service director. The food program is led by Executive Chef Peter Klein, who was formally the executive sous chef at L’Oca d’Oro. The trio met while working at the Southern restaurant Olamaie.
Ashford’s opening cocktail menu will focus on agave, amari and gin, but is expected to change frequently. The food menu will feature seasonal snacks, small plates and several large entrees.
Holiday will have “bright, feminine” energy with a light and airy aesthetic, according to a press release. The building, which was previously an auto body shop, was transformed by architect Fred Hubnik, JCP Construction, and Candice Bertalan of Tropic of Capricorn Design, who led the interior design and plant design.
