New 83-room boutique hotel breaks ground in East Austin Room rates at the new East Austin Arrive hotel will start at $199 nightly.[/caption] An Austin-centric hotel has broken ground on a new 83-room hotel on the corner of East Sixth and Chicon streets. The 58,600-square-foot hotel is the second for Arrive Hotels & Restaurants, who also has a 32-room hotel in Palm Springs, California. In a news release today, Arrive co-founder Ezra Callahan said the company looked forward to embracing and supporting the local community of East Austin. He called East Austin "one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in the country" and said the hotel should serve as a "crossroads for locals and travelers that celebrates the surrounding style and culture." The hotel will integrate a 100-year-old warehouse and give it a modern design, with two restaurants and bars, a retail space and a coffee shop. It will also have about 3,500 square feet of event and meeting space as well as an outdoor courtyard. According to the release, room rates will start at $199 a night once the hotel is completed in early 2019. The hotel group has assembled a team of local architects, designers, consultants and developers, including Big Red Dog Engineering, Alexa Management, Burton Baldridge Architects and Eye Like Design. The hotel brand also has plans to expand in the coming years, according to the release.
