Art for the People features 37 local artists in the visual adventure, taking the form of handcrafted furniture, wall art, sculpture, textiles and ceramics. Flower Power is an exhibition that embraces the diversity of florals through different interpretations from scientific, photorealism, 3D, mixed media, abstract and watercolor. The Mighty Vignettes is a microcosm of the beauty of what is possible when interior furnishings and artwork is crafted by Austin artists. Each small staged scene within The Mighty Vignettes involves 6-12-plus artists.

KTSW-FM 89.9’s 10th annual My Radio Festival features performances by High Waisted, Mantra Love, Empire Machines, White Dog, The Halfways and other local and regional artists at various venues throughout Downtown San Marcos. April 29 | Bouldin Years
Preservation Austin hosts the 2017 homes tour in Austin’s Bouldin Creek neighborhood. The tour showcases a diversity of home styles built throughout the early- to mid-20th century, reflecting all eras of Bouldin Creek’s history. Tour-goers experience Bouldin’s evolution from an isolated agricultural community into a vibrant urban neighborhood, made possible by the construction of the Congress Avenue Bridge and streetcar line in 1910. They’ll also tour three historic buildings on the campus of the Texas School for the Deaf, established in 1856, and learn about neighborhood landmarks related to Bouldin’s early African American and Mexican American communities.

April 29 | Eeyore’s Birthday Party
The 54th annual event is a beloved Austin tradition that’s been going strong since the 1960s. Usually held in April, this free festival celebrates the birthday of Eeyore from the cherished Winnie-the-Pooh books and also acts as a fundraiser benefiting local non-profit groups. This family-friendly festival features live acoustic music, all-day drumming circles, games and colorful maypoles. Costumes are strongly encouraged, and there are contests offering prizes.
