Due to decreasing demand, Travis County will stop accepting tree debris at its two drop-off locations in March. The Mansfield Dam Park will close on Sunday, March 26, and the Northeast Metropolitan Park will close on Sunday, March 19.

Both locations are open Friday-Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Austin Water’s Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Plant, located at 2210 FM 973, Austin, will remain open daily from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. for residents to drop off tree debris.

Know before you go

The drop-off sites are only for tree limbs, branches, shrubs and leaves. Nonvegetative items, such as trash, metal or household appliances, will not be accepted.

Residents must place tree debris inside the dumpster—not on the ground beside it—and staff will not assist residents with unloading debris.

Debris pickup

The Travis County Transportation and Natural Resource Department completed one round of debris pickup in the unincorporated areas on the east side of Travis County. In the coming weeks, TNR Department officials will pick up storm debris in the unincorporated areas on the west side before doing a second round throughout all unincorporated areas of the county.
