A new store for candles, incense and other scented goods opened at 1608 S. Congress Ave., Austin, in the former South Congress Books space March 10.

Society by Jackson Vaughn sells a line of signature candles with unique blends, such as one with basil, eggplant and sandalwood. The store also sells home goods, incense and other scented products.

The store is family owned by mother and son duo Peter and Pam Jackson and their interior design partner Jeremi Vaughn Headrick. The South Congress store marks Society’s first Austin location and fourth store overall, with two Dallas locations and one in Wimberley.

The store replaces South Congress Books, which shuttered in January after 11 years in business. The book store relocated to 3703 Kerbey Lane, Austin, on March 4. The store will hold its grand reopening party with live music, drinks and more on Saturday, April 1, from 4-8 p.m.
