Austin’s first multilevel H-E-B opened at 2652 Lake Austin Blvd. on Feb. 15.

The location, a former Randalls grocery store, spans 97,000 square feet and features a two-story porch with views of Lake Austin. The store has fully underground parking to create a pedestrian-friendly perimeter that encourages walking and biking, according to a press release.

Inside, there are multiple elevators, escalators and cart escalators. The store’s first floor features a full-service pharmacy, Lake Austin’s Coffee Spot—which serves specialty coffee, breakfast tacos and baked goods made daily at the store’s in-house bakery—and SouthFlo Pizza, an H-E-B chain serving up New York-style, made-to-order pizzas.

The second level has a True Texas BBQ restaurant, which has a full bar as well as indoor and outdoor seating. The bar serves beer from several Austin breweries, cocktails, draft margaritas, and old fashions and frozen cocktails.

The store also has an extensive beer and wine selection with a tasting station, a Blooms floral department and full-service catering.

Construction for the project began in October 2019. The store was slated to open last summer; however, the project was interrupted due to the pandemic, according to a news release.
