Five YMCA of Austin locations will be open for free this weekend until 6 p.m. on Feb. 5 for those who have been stuck at home during the winter storm. Visitors can use the fitness centers, exercise classes, heated pools, gymnasiums, Child Watch and locker rooms.

Free weekend options at the YMCA are offered at these locations:
  • East Communities YMCA, 5315 Ed Bluestein Blvd.
  • Hays Communities YMCA, 465 Buda Sportsplex Drive
  • North Austin YMCA, 1000 W. Rundberg Lane (closed Friday)
  • TownLake YMCA, 1100 W. Cesar Chavez St.
  • YMCA Camp Moody, 1220 Old San Antonio Road


Thinkery will resume operations this weekend after being closed due to the winter storm. The children’s museum will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday for general admission. The Thinkery will be holding its donation-based Community Hours on Sunday from 3-5 p.m.

Most Austin Public Library locations have resumed operations as of Feb. 3. The Menchaca Road, St. John, University Hills and Yarborough Branches remain temporarily closed due to winter storm damages.

Urban Air Adventure Park resumed operations on Feb. 2 and will be open throughout the weekend. The trampoline park offers several attractions, including a ropes course, a climbing wall, arcade games, dodgeball and more. Urban Air will be open 4-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.
