Travis County is under a burn ban, effective May 11.

The commissioners court decided May 10 to reinstate the ban, just two weeks after lifting it, following guidance from Travis County Fire Marshal Tony Callaway.

Callaway said the humidity would drop off significantly on May 12. Callaway also said there were some issues with fires over the May 7-8 weekend due to rising winds.

The burn ban will be in effect until June 8 unless the county chooses to end it early.
