Travis County Constables will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration to allow individuals to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs.

Residents can anonymously drop off prescription medicine at any of four locations for free and no questions will be asked, according to the county.

Residents can dispose of unwanted prescription medications year-round in a drop-off kiosk in the lobby of the office of Travis County Precinct 5 Constable, located at 1003 Guadalupe St., Austin.

The initiative is a safe way for residents to return unneeded or wanted pills, according to press release. The misuse or improper disposal of these prescriptions can cause drug and water supply issues.
