Due to all candidates now running unopposed in the upcoming Cedar Park City Council race, council voted to cancel the May 6 elections.

Incumbents Anne Duffy and Kevin Harris were the only candidates to submit an application by the time the filing period closed Feb. 17 for the upcoming election, causing them to run unopposed. Two applications for the Place 1 seat were received by the time the filing period closed, making it the only contested race.

After former candidate Justin O'Brien dropped from the race for Place 1 in early March, it left candidate Bobbi Hutchinson to run unopposed.

Duffy, Harris and Hutchinson are scheduled to be sworn in after the official canvas period from May 9-17 has ended, according to city officials. The candidates will be sworn in at the Cedar Park City Council meeting on May 25.
