'It’s A Wonderful Life'
Directed by Gretchen Westbrook, the holiday classic “It’s A Wonderful Life” live radio play will be at the Bastrop Opera House through Dec. 17.

Bastrop Opera House performers will spread holiday cheer with renditions of holiday music. Tickets include bottomless holiday cocktails, including Naughty Hot Cocoa, Wassail and Sugar Plum Fairy, along with treats from The Bearded Baking Company.

The 19th-century-themed, family-friendly event is put on by nonprofit Smithville Community Improvement Organization. Attendees can shop local vendors who will offer handcrafted goods. Food vendors will also be available with foods such as sausage rolls, hot cross buns and roasted chestnuts. Activities will include ice skating and street carolers.

Santa Claus will visit The Sugar Shack for four nights to take photos with kids. Photos will be printed on-site the day the photo is taken. Children can also drop their letters to Santa in The Sugar Shack's special mailbox that goes directly to the North Pole.
