Bastrop will celebrate the town’s first Mardi Gras Parade downtown Feb. 3. The parade is part of the inaugural Courir de Mardi Gras event.

What is happening?

Over 65 vendors will be downtown for the day's event selling food, arts and crafts. In celebration many businesses are joining in on the fun with Louisiana-inspired specials.

“It's just amazing how the whole town is so excited about this event,” Bastrop Community Engagement Director Kathy Danielson said. “Everybody's just jumping on board.”

What to expect

Louisiana-themed cuisine and drinks will be found at local businesses throughout the day. Try a variety of gumbos at 602 Brewing Company or a New Orleans muffuletta sandwich at CAFF Coffee + Kitchen. Johnson’s Bakery will be offering Mardi Gras platters complete with mini king cakes.
