Bastrop community members can enjoy local events and fundraisers with live music, a live stunt show and more throughout March and early April. This list is not comprehensive. Events are subject to change.

March

2025 Kritter Karaoke

Bastrop County Animal Control and Shelter will host its fundraiser with comedian Scott Hardy to benefit animals in the local community. Attendees can expect trophies, cash prizes and a barkarita drink special.

Airing of the Quilts


Quilts made by local community members will be aired out by several local businesses to complement the Bastrop Museum and Visitor Center’s Stitched Exhibit. Participants can stop at the Bastrop Visitor Center to pick up a brochure detailing each quilt’s story and location. A raffle for an antique quilt from the 1920s will be held at the event.

Touch a Truck

Individuals are welcome to attend a movie screening of Big Hero 6 accompanied with concessions, games, vendors and various vehicles to examine and touch.

Lunch & Learn: Our Pioneer Foremothers


The public is invited to chat with local historian Michal Hubbard and learn about impactful women in Bastrop County history. Participants can bring their own lunch and the museum will provide drinks and Simply Sweet Cupcakes for dessert.

Music in the Museum: Terry Lyne Moore

In honor of Women’s History Month, the museum’s music series will welcome the local songstress to perform. Moore sings in a variety of genres from country to pop and has been featured in Bastrop Opera House productions including “Always, Patsy Cline.”

Cult Classic Convention


With horror short films, a scavenger hunt, live music and vendors, attendees can spend their weekend enjoying all things horror.

Little Sit

Bastrop Audubon & Bird City birding experts will share their knowledge about birds with interested community members. Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars, bottled water, a folding chair and sunscreen. Park entrance fees are waived for the event.

Bastrop Film Extravaganza

Community members can witness a live stunt show, meet stunt professionals, learn martial arts with power rangers and more at this annual film event hosted by Extreme Force Stunts & Film. Attendees can meet director Evan Allen and sign up to be an extra or audition for a speaking role in upcoming film “A ToyMaker.”


Lend Me A Tenor

Individuals interested in the arts can enjoy a showing of Lend Me A Tenor performed at the local theatre. The comedy performance tells the story of the world’s greatest tenor and his task to save Ohio’s Grand Opera Company but his plans go awry and the opera director’s assistant is on a mission to find a replacement.

Smithville Empty Bowl Project

The annual fundraising event will benefit Lost Pines Artisans Alliance, Smithville Food Pantry, The Smithville Community Gardens, Smithville Community Clinic and Samella Williams Angels Unaware Ministry. Participants will enjoy soup from local businesses out of bowls handpainted by community members.

Restoration Ranch Spring Fling 2025

Community members can enjoy an afternoon of family entertainment, horses and vendors as they explore the ranch grounds. The nonprofit ranch provides equine learning and development which nurtures veteran families.

Hells Hills Trails Race

New and experienced runners alike can get a workout with a variety of run lengths including a youth 1-mile, 10k ruck, 25k ruck, 10k, 25k, 50k and 50 miles. All races will be chip timed and participants will receive a T-shirt or swag item such as a hat, beanie, drinkware or arm warmers.
