Registration is underway for the Bastrop Area Cruisers’ 20th annual Heroes & Hot Rods car show, which will bring hot rods and classic cars to downtown Bastrop Nov. 13-14.
What to expect
Honoring veterans and first responders, the two-day event will feature about 400 hot rods and other classic cars, as well as a Veterans Day tribute and march. Event officials said all military members are welcome to join.
Participants can register online for $35 through Bastrop Area Cruisers, with the show capped at 400 pre-registered vehicles. Event officials said no day-of registration will be available.

Why it matters
Registration fees will go to local veterans organizations and automotive technician scholarships, according to officials.
"We hold our veterans in the highest regard," event officials said in an announcement. "That's why we host the annual Bastrop veterans weekend cruise-in, veterans tribute ceremony and car show, a beloved tradition that brings the community together to celebrate our heroes. Cruise down historic Main Street and admire classic cars, or join the Veterans Tribute Ceremony for a heartwarming commemoration."
