Part of the "Music in the Museum" series, which is presented on the third Saturday of each month, Sledge & Haney will bring a soulful, unique journey to those attending, said Nancy Wood, director of events, in a news release.

Museum spokesperson Martha Huett said audiences can expect musical explorations of soulful depths of jazz, the definitive intensity of rhythm and blues, and the appeal of rock and roll.
The band is composed of Barney Sledge, a Rosansky native who blends his soulful harmonica with Smithville native Jeff Haney’s percussive acoustic guitar.
"Their raw vocals complement the performance with danceable energy and authenticity," Huett said.

Huett said this month's concert allows attendees to:
