From a Christmas karaoke party at the River of Lights to the lighted Christmas parade, graham cracker house decorating at the library and more, Bastrop offers a dozen opportunities to celebrate the season this weekend.

Christmas Karaoke in the Park

City officials will offer a free holiday-themed karaoke event at the River of Lights along the June Hill Pape riverwalk. The River of Lights features lighted holiday displays stretching about a half-mile. It is open daily from dusk until 10 p.m. Refreshments will served by local nonprofits at the gingerbread house during the event.Bastrop's Rockin' Holiday Revue

Produced by the Bastrop Opera House, the show will offer a “rockin’ twist and jukebox vibe” with live holiday music and an emcee to guide the audience throughout the event.Rendezvous Holiday Gala

Participants can look forward to line dancing, a live DJ, a buffet and a silent auction. All proceeds will go toward supporting the Bastrop County Historical Society and Museum.Merry on Main


Hosted by Bastrop's Main Street Program, the free, family-friendly fun will include events such as letter-writing to Santa Claus and ornament decorating, giant inflatables, face painting, pop-up snack booths, a Cookies and Cocoa crawl throughout local downtown retailers and more.Bastrop Library Holiday Open House

The annual event will offer live music, snacks, letters to Santa Claus and a graham cracker house decorating contest.Wreaths Across America Ceremony

Community members are invited to remember and honor fallen veterans by laying remembrance wreaths on their graves. Attendees are encouraged to sponsor a wreath.Bastrop Holiday Historic Homes Tour

Hosted by the Bastrop Museum and Visitor Center team, the self-paced tour features five historic homes, along with the Kerr Community Center. Guides will be available at each location to provide insight into the history of the building.Lost Pines Lighted Christmas Parade


Over 100 floats, fire trucks, cowboys and more will come together along downtown Bastrop's Main Street to spread holiday cheer. Attendees can expect festive music and lights throughout the parade.An Evening with Barry Corbin

Full Circle Moments and CASA of Bastrop, Fayette and Lee Counties will partner to host a toy drive featuring actor Barry Corbin. Light food and drink options will be available for purchase and participants are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy.The Honor Choir Christmas concert

Thirty area singers from grades 8-12 will perform holiday music accompanied by a cellist, flutist, pianist and organist. A baked goods sale will follow to raise funds for the nonprofit choir.

Kerr Community Center 110th anniversary celebration

The party will offer sips and snacks, and feature guest speakers, an awards ceremony and a presentation about the history of the center. Though the event is free, organizers are collecting shelf-stable food that will be delivered to the Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry, along with donations like dog and cat food, cat litter, blankets and more for the Bastrop County Animal Shelter.Lost Pines Symposium


With a focus on the construction and restoration of structures significant to Bastrop’s minority communities, the three-day event will allow participants a chance to explore historical architecture in the city with private tours, learn the history of it all from guest speakers, get behind-the-scenes looks at some of the buildings, and more.
