Local nonprofit Red, White & Blue Veterans of Bastrop County is gearing up for its 20th annual Veterans Appreciation banquet on Nov. 9 at the Bastrop Convention & Exhibit Center, 1408 Chestnut St., Bastrop, at 6 p.m.

Red, White & Blue Veterans of Bastrop County supports local veterans individually and through area organizations.

The annual banquet is centered around honoring local veterans and their families.

Those interested in buying or donating tickets for local veterans to attend may also do so on the Red, White & Blue Veterans of Bastrop County website.

Prices for the banquet are as follows:
  • $30 for veterans, their spouses or surviving spouses
  • $40 for nonveterans
Sponsorships are also available, with prices ranging from $100-$1,200.

Richard Hutchins, chair of the nonprofit, said sponsors will be recognized throughout the evening in various ways depending on the sponsorship level.

New this year, officials with the Red, White & Blue Veterans of Bastrop County are selling 20th-anniversary commemorative coins for $12 each, or two for $20. After purchasing online, buyers can call the nonprofit's spokesperson, Daniel DuBose, at 512-581-4006 for more information or to arrange a pickup spot.


What else?

The money raised will be distributed to related county organizations, and programs like the Bastrop County Veterans Honor Guard and Bastrop High School National Junior Reserve Officers in Training Corps.

"We raised $10,000 in 2023 through the sale of veteran appreciation banquet and raffle tickets, as well as donations and sponsorships," Hutchins said.
