Editor's note: This story has been updated to clarify that Pitchside is a private project separate from the regional sports complex previously considered by the city of Bastrop.
A sports complex taking shape in Cedar Creek aims to add year-round space for Bastrop County athletes, recreational players and families when it opens in early 2027.
Located near SH 21 and Mount Olive Road, Pitchside will feature 26,000 square feet of indoor turf for soccer and football.

The 8.75-acre facility will also include outdoor multiuse fields with camps, leagues for adults and youth, tournaments and open-field rentals planned, according to the business’s website.
Officials said on Instagram that community programming will also be offered, including family game days.
One more thing
Pitchside officials said the facility will serve as the future home of FC Bastrop, a local youth soccer organization.
