The Colorado River Alliance’s annual gala invites hundreds of community members and corporate and legislative leaders to celebrate the Alliance’s accomplishments over the past year and one of Austin’s most valuable natural resources: the Texas Colorado River.  This year, the alliance is honoring Peggy Winkler her for her efforts in protecting Texas waterways and energizing communities in those efforts. The 12th annual festival celebrates Austin’s local urban music scene. The event features Tony! Toni! The annual charity bicycle ride benefits the Rosedale Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting the children of Rosedale School, Austin ISD’s school for children with multiple disabilities. The ride features multiple routes that are 23, 42 and 62 miles in length as well as a children’s fun ride of 2 miles. The educational event is orchestrated by the nonprofit Texas Veg Foundation and celebrates the health, environmental and animal welfare benefits of a plant-based lifestyle.
