Average tourism spending per day in Allen surpassed $500,000 in 2025, according to an Allen Convention and Visitors Bureau report.
Crystella McIvor, who serves as the chairperson of the Convention and Visitors Bureau Advisory board, presented the annual report showing the economic impact of tourism at a May 12 Allen City Council meeting.
A closer look
Visitors to Allen spent a total of over $209 million in 2025, which is a 5.5% increase from 2024, per McIvor’s presentation.
“The annual spending by visitors to Allen surpassed $200 million for the first time ever, which is great news, and visitors continue to spend more than half a million per day in Allen,” McIvor said.
The Allen CVB report shows the average tourism spending per day totaled $574,404 in 2025. In addition, local tax receipts totaled approximately $8.5 million, which is a 2.2% increase year over year.

“Along with these 20 [events], the CVB managed information tables and volunteers at an additional 22 events throughout the year," McIvor said.
The Show Your Badge program, which incentivizes conference attendees to spend money with local businesses, has grown to include 52 Allen businesses, per McIvor’s presentation.
Other Allen CVB highlights include redesigned branding, a new logo and a leisure marketing campaign.
