McKinney City Council members will consider a specific use permit request for a proposed fuel station as well as two other zoning cases at an upcoming meeting in September.
In a nutshell
Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m., Sept. 15 for a regular meeting. The agenda includes consideration of a specific use permit for a 7-Eleven fuel station at the northwest corner of Bloomdale Road and Hardin Boulevard.
Developers intend to build a 4,816-square-foot convenience store alongside six fuel pumps, according to a letter of intent. McKinney’s Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the request in August, according to a city document.
Also on the agenda
Council will consider a zoning request for property containing the McKinney ISD Learning Center Campus located at 2100 W. White Ave. The school district is seeking a “GC” government complex zoning designation for the property, according to a city document.
McKinney ISD is seeking the zoning change in order to “centralize its maintenance offices and warehouse operations at a single, purpose-built location," according to a letter of intent. The learning center currently hosts McKinney ISD’s Disciplinary Alternative Education Program, but officials intend to relocate it to one of three repurposed elementary campuses.
The school district’s maintenance and custodial departments will be relocated to the learning center campus when it's vacant. District officials are also planning construction of a new 33,000-square-foot warehouse facility on undeveloped land directly north of the learning center, according to the letter of intent.
McKinney’s Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the request in August.
Council members are also scheduled to consider a light industrial zoning case for six acres of land in southeast McKinney. The planning and zoning commission recommended approval of the request in July.
The meeting’s consent agenda includes several items for consideration related to McKinney National Airport and a future recreation center in north McKinney.
