As demand for services continues to grow, TOMAGWA HealthCare Ministries plans to open a new full-time clinic next year in Magnolia. In early August, TOMAGWA began reopening its Tomball clinic on Fridays after operating on a four-day weekly schedule for more than nine months to conserve financial resources.
TOMAGWA received grant funding to support the proposed 5,900-square-foot facility from a private foundation and is waiting to hear back on another grant early next year, Executive Director Judy Deyo said. Deyo said $200,000 to $250,000 in grants and community donations would allow the new clinic to operate five days a week.
“We really need help from the Magnolia community, so we’re putting together a building fund committee of people who are interested in helping us raise money primarily for operating funds,” she said.
The new clinic is proposed to offer six medical examination rooms and other features in development. The new clinic will be an upgrade from the half-day, one-day-a-week satellite office TOMAGWA operates at First Baptist Church, Deyo said.
