Old Town Tomball retail, restaurant workshop scheduled for Jan. 29

During the Jan. 23 Tomball Economic Development Corp. meeting, TEDC Executive Director Kelly Violette announced an Old Town Tomball retail and restaurant workshop will be held on Jan. 29 from 1-5 p.m. at First Baptist Church Tomball.

In a nutshell

During the meeting, Violette said the workshop will include consultants from the Texas Downtown Association:

• Reviewing the results of their downtown assessment
• Going through some of their recommendations
• Working with the attendees to look at downtown organization and program development
• Discussing what the roles/responsibilities of a committee or association could look like
• Focusing towards developing an action and work plan

The TEDC spent $1,500 to fund an assessment of downtown Tomball by the Texas Downtown Association, Community Impact previously reported.

Quote of note

“That is open, really, to any stakeholder that is interested in downtown,” Violette said. “Its focus is primarily on retail and restaurant because that’s really the purpose of trying to bring this group together.”
