The Magnolia City Council will consider extending its temporary development moratorium at its April 11 meeting, according to a March 22 news release posted on the city’s website.
In place since Dec. 21, the temporary development moratorium was enacted because the city’s water facilities were at capacity and “are inadequate and insufficient to adequately serve new development,” according to the ordinance.
The city is under construction with two water wells—Well No. 7 and Well No. 8—with temporary equipment in the process of being rented for Well No. 7, Community Impact previously reported.
City Council also approved an agreement with Magnolia East 149 for a water plant, according to previous reporting.
