Sugar Land officials are looking for neighborly residents to honor.
What you need to know
The new Sugar Land Community Champion Award was created to honor residents who make Sugar Land a strong, welcoming and connected community, officials announced in an Oct. 12 news release.
The award—which was developed in response to stakeholder feedback gathered through the city’s 2025-27 Strategic Action Plan—is meant to encourage a greater sense of community and pride in residents, inspire residents to support each other and highlight positive acts of neighborliness.
The details
Residents are encouraged to nominate someone for either a single action or ongoing contributions, Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Briana Williams said at a Sept. 22 City Council workshop.
