A burger for lunch or dinner may seem like a basic choice, however, making a meal selection at The Burger Barn requires more decision making than “medium” or “well-done.” To stand out from other burger eateries in the area, The Burger Barn offers a variety of unique toppings, such as peanut butter, fried eggs, Mexican sausage, nacho cheese, Fritos corn chips and grilled pineapple, to give customer options outside of the traditional lettuce, tomato and cheese toppings. The eatery has additional locations in Rosenburg, Baytown, Manvel and Hebbronville. “We wanted to be in areas that maybe don’t have a lot of local choices. [Customers] have the chains, but they want something that’s a little more homey when they come in,” Virgil said. The Burger Barn’s menu features over 25 specialty burgers—including the signature Tomball Burger, which features macaroni and cheese, bacon bits and a signature sauce—as well as Mexican dishes, fish, Buffalo wings and baked potatoes. A wide range of sides, such as fried pickles and jalapenos, breaded fried bacon and an avocado salad, are also available. “It allows the entire family to come here and get what they want,” Area Manager Angie Woods said.  “Maybe you’re hungry for Mexican food and he’s hungry for a burger—you can come to one location and get just about anything.” Since opening, the eatery has added delivery service through Waitr, an app that allows customers within a 15-minute radius to order lunch and dinner. The restaurant staff is also considering adding movie nights, karaoke and live music. “There are burgers everywhere, but I think that what we do is unique in the way that it makes you feel more like you’re home,” Virgil said.
