The Woodlands has many charities and nonprofits that need volunteers throughout the year. There are volunteer opportunities available for any level of time commitment. Here is a list of some local charities that are accepting volunteers.
Assistance League of Montgomery County provides new clothing for children who are starting their first day of school, puts on puppet shows in area schools to educate students on what household items are poisonous and provides dolls for abused children to aid in their communication with their counselors. Assistance League of Montgomery County trains volunteers to assist in its thrift store in downtown Conroe.

Breast Cancer Charities of America[/caption]
Breast Cancer Charities of America, which puts on the annual Wine, Women and Shoes event, offers education outreach and programs including Feeling Beautiful Again, which focuses on empowering female cancer survivors to accept their bodies. The organization looks for volunteers to assist with event planning, administration duties and stuffing Fabulous Swag Bags and Feeling Beautiful Again bags, which include scarves, lotions and nail polish.
