All 10 Houston-area Whole Foods Market Brewing Company facilities tapped the Post Oak pale ale kegs simultaneously Aug. 8 to mark the unveiling of Whole Foods brewmaster Dave Ohmer’s latest ale.

Bartender Sean Ansley said the hops used in the golden ale create an aromatic beer with a crisp finish.

“It’s a nice light profile—very floral aromatic hops,” Ansley said.

Ohmer said he used a combination of Centennial and Citra brand hops.

“I wanted to build a classic flavor into the pale ale with the Centennial, but used the Citra to really make the aroma pop,” he said.

Ansley said the beer will be a hit.

“I can see this beer being very popular because of most pale ales being very hoppy, and this beer tests the boundaries between pale ale and [India pale ale],” he said. “This is what I look for in a pale ale—the nice clean, crisp finish.”
