Here's what The Woodlands-area voters need to know ahead of the Nov. 5 election

Voters in the The Woodlands area will have the opportunity to make their voices heard on several federal, state and local elections on the ballot in the Nov. 5 general election.

What residents should know

Voters should note the following dates of importance in the upcoming Nov. 5 general election:

Oct. 21: First day of early voting
Oct. 25: Last day to apply for ballot by mail (received, not postmarked)
Nov. 1: Last day of early voting
Nov. 5: Election Day and the last day to receive ballot by mail (or Nov. 6 if carrier envelope is postmarked by 7 p.m. at location of election on Election Day)

Voters in both Harris and Montgomery counties can cast their ballot at any polling location during early voting. On Election Day, Harris County voters can vote at any polling location, while Montgomery County voters will vote at their designated voting precincts.
