The energy companies Entergy Corp. and ExxonMobil each signed leases for office space in the Lake Front North development at Hughes Landing, The Woodlands, The Howard Hughes Corporation announced March 1.
The lease for Entergy, which works in electric power production and distribution, includes 54,010 square feet across two floors of Lake Front North Building 2. The energy company occupied the space in November 2018, according to the release.
ExxonMobil, the Texas-based global oil and gas corporation, leased a 26,103-square-foot space on one floor of the same building, and it plans to move in this month, according to the release.
The Lake Front North complex is made up of two former Chicago Bridge & Iron Company buildings on 13 acres of land on the east side of Lake Woodlands, according to the Howard Hughes Corporation.
The two leases follow the recent signing of Arena Energy of an 87,231-square-foot lease at Lake Front North to establish a new company headquarters in The Woodlands.
The new leases make Lake Front North now 91 percent leased, according to the release. The portfolio of The Howard Hughes Corporation in The Woodlands area is now 92.5 percent leased, said Lorrie Parise, manager of public relations and community relations.
"Our recent acquisition of Lake Front North and the rapid pace at which the campus continues to lease demonstrates the strong market demand for premium office space here in The Woodlands," said Paul Layne, president of the central region for The Howard Hughes Corporation. "Howard Hughes is committed to serving the needs of corporations through office leasing and build-to-suit opportunities, and we are excited to continue to attract businesses to one of Houston's best-performing submarkets."
Lake Front North's 13 acres includes 4.2 acres designated for future development opportunity, according to the news release.
