6 development projects to keep an eye on in The Woodlands area

Several new retail, residential and commercial developments are under construction in The Woodlands, Shenandoah and around the I-45 corridor.

1) A retail development site is being built in front of the Wal-Mart on the corner of Kuykendahl Road and Augusta Pines Drive in Spring. The development will include retail and restaurant pad sites.

2) Construction on Shenandoah’s new mixed-use development, MetroPark Square, is underway east of I-45. The 69-acre development, due to be completed by 2020, will include retail, restaurant and entertainment space anchored by AMC-10, a 10-screen movie theater that is set to open this fall.

3) Marcel Town Center—a retail development—is under construction on FM 1488 near Kuykendahl Road near the border of The Woodlands and Conroe. It is slated to open in fall 2018.

4) Anchored by a Kroger Marketplace that is slated to open in September, Birnham Woods Marketplace in Spring will host a variety of retail and commercial storefronts upon build-out. A PetSmart location opened in the center in June.

5) The Market at Springwoods Village, located at the intersection of Spring Stuebner Road and Holzwarth Road features several retail stores and restaurants, including Zoe’s Kitchen, Mod Pizza and Chick-fil-A, slated to open by the end of August.

6) Creekside Park Apartments is under construction in The Woodlands near Crossroads Square at the northeast corner of Creekside Forest Drive and Kuykendahl Road. The gated residential community is expected to open by mid-2018.
